This is
based on the foreign gaze as an outsider moving through
different urban landscapes. This one is the first in a
series of Camera Walks. The camera is the device that
mediates, records and captures the sight stimuli between
what is outside and inside my body. My curiosity lies
within myself as a stranger even to myself. I am
interested in the ways I am affected by the outside
world and so I capture the outside world as raw data.

The sound added is my ‘native’ sound. It becomes a way
of marking territory as the ‘other’ in a new space.

My gaze is my entry into another space, it is a visual
contact and penetration that through the recording
device acts as a pseudo colonist having come, captured
and taken the recording as an artifact for the viewing
of others. My gaze is everywhere all at once; my gaze is
						without anybody’s permission.
