En 1976 descubrí mi nombre, o debo decir, uno de mis nombres, de acuerdo al calendario del México antiguo: eye acatl. Tres caña que me resume como mujer en esta tierra.  Caña de maíz, luego de azúcar,  de carrizo y hasta la curativa equicetum, o cola de caballo.  Desde entonces dibujé una caña y su numeral tres debajo en todas y cada una de las piezas que han salido de mis manos y hasta llegué a usarlo como nombre artístico.  Después descubrí –así la vida- que mi raíz materna-materna es nahua de Puebla y Estado de México.

In 1976 l discovered my name, or l must say, one of them, according to the Old Mexico calendar: eye acatl.  Three cane names me as a woman who belongs to this land. A Corn cane, then sugar cane, reed grass and even the healer equicetum, or horse tail.  So, since then, l stamp a cane and a three numeral under it in each and all of the pieces born from my hands. I even used eye acatl as an artistic name for a while. Later, l have known -you know how is life- that my mother's grandmother has a nahuatl lineage from  Puebla and  México State.
